Privacy policy for Ketocado

Last updated: 18 September 2026

The short version. There is no account and no sign-in. We run no server, so nothing you log reaches us. Your fasts, food entries, weights and rules sync through your own private iCloud database, which is yours and not ours. Weight read from or written to Health stays on your device. The app sells a subscription, so it does talk to Apple's App Store, and that is the only network traffic it makes.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting service and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app. We have no database of users because we have no users to put in one.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter is stored by the app on your device: fasts and their times, food entries, weights, custom foods, strict day rules, your schedule and your settings.

If you are signed in to iCloud, the same records are mirrored to the private database of your own iCloud account, which is how they appear on your other devices. That storage belongs to you. We are the app's developer, not a party to it, and we cannot read it. Apple's handling of iCloud is covered by Apple's privacy policy. If iCloud is unavailable the app keeps everything locally instead and carries on working.

Deleting the app removes the local copy. To remove the iCloud copy as well, use Delete all data inside the app before you delete it, or remove the app's data from iCloud in your device settings.

Health data

If you allow it, the app reads your weight from Health so you do not have to type it twice, and writes weight entries you log in the app back to Health. That is the only Health category it touches. Permission is asked for on the progress screen and can be withdrawn at any time in Settings, Health, Data Access and Devices.

Health data is read and written on your device. It is never sent to us, never used for advertising, never shared with anyone, and never used for anything other than showing your weight and your progress inside the app. Apple's rules forbid using Health data for advertising or selling it on, and we do neither.

Network access

We run no server, so nothing you do in the app is sent to us. The app connects to the network in two places, both of them Apple's:

The App Store, to load the purchase options, to complete a purchase and to check whether a subscription is still active. iCloud, to sync your records between your own devices, if you are signed in.

There is no other traffic. No remote configuration, no content downloads, no telemetry. The recipes and the food list are built into the app and work with the device in airplane mode.

Purchases

The subscription and the one time purchase are sold and processed by Apple. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. What the app receives back is a signed receipt saying whether the purchase is active, and that is the only thing it uses to unlock the paid features.

Apple provides us with aggregate sales reporting, the same as for any App Store product. It counts purchases by country and period and does not identify individuals.

Notifications

All notifications are scheduled on your device by the app itself. There is no push server and we cannot send you anything. They are off until you turn them on, and turning off a mode also cancels the notifications belonging to it.

Exported files

The export feature writes CSV files of your fasts, food entries and weights and hands them to the iOS share sheet. Where they go from there is your choice. They are not uploaded anywhere by the app.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data. Fasting is not appropriate for children, and the app is not designed or marketed for them.

Not medical advice

Ketocado is a tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in it is medical advice. If you have a health condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or take medication affected by when or what you eat, talk to a doctor before fasting or changing your diet.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new date at the top. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be a clarification rather than a new use of data.
