Ketocado

Vegan keto and intermittent fasting in one app, instead of two that do not know about each other. A fasting timer that says what stage you are in, net carbs and calories for the day, 543 vegan keto recipes, and a weight chart that projects forward from what you have actually logged.

In development   For iPhone and iPad. Free to use, with an optional subscription.

Why the two together

Most people doing vegan keto are also doing some form of time restricted eating, and most fasting apps know nothing about what you eat while the window is open. So the fasting app says you are doing well and the food app says you are 40 g of carbs over, and neither of them mentions the other.

Ketocado runs both sides on one screen. You can also switch one off. If you only want the fasting timer, the carb budget and the recipes disappear from the app rather than sitting there greyed out. If you only want vegan keto, the timer and the schedule go instead. The app changes shape rather than nagging you about the half you did not ask for.

What it does

A fasting timer with stages. Start and end a fast, edit either time afterward when you forget, and see which stage the clock has reached. Standard schedules from 12:12 up to OMAD, or set your own window. The ring shows time remaining or time elapsed, whichever you tap for.

Net carbs, protein, fat and calories. Log what you eat against a daily net carb budget. The calorie and protein targets come from your own weight and goal rather than a generic number.

543 vegan keto recipes. Every one of them plant based, with net carbs and calories per serving, and filters for the things that actually narrow it down: no oil, quick, high protein, by meal. Built in 5 day meal plans if you would rather not choose.

Weight, and where it is heading. Log weight by hand or let it come from Health. The chart draws what you logged, and the projection extends it using your recent rate rather than a flat assumption. There is a weekly review that reports the week without cheerleading.

On the Lock Screen. A Live Activity counts the fast down while it runs, and home screen widgets show the fast or the next one.

iCloud sync. Your fasts, food, weights and rules follow you between your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account.

What it will not do

It does not diagnose anything, treat anything or promise a result. Fasting and ketogenic eating suit many people and not others, and there are people who should not fast at all, including anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with a history of disordered eating, and anyone taking medication where a missed meal matters. That is a conversation with a doctor, not with an app. The app says so where it comes up.

It has no streak guilt trip, no daily push telling you that you are falling behind, no social feed and no leaderboard. Notifications are the ones you switch on, and switching your mode off also stops the ones that belong to it.

It does not have a food database of everything on earth. The catalog is built around plant based and vegan keto eating, so it is deep where the app is useful and shallow elsewhere.

What costs money

The fasting side is free and stays free: the 16:8 schedule, start, end and edit, the stage timeline, the week view, your current streak, and the notifications that go with a fast. So is all of onboarding, and 5 of the recipes.

Ketocado Pro adds every other schedule and your own custom window, day by day overrides, full food logging, the whole recipe catalog, streak history, the weight projection and weekly reviews, the widgets and the Live Activity, and CSV export.

Three ways to pay, whichever suits: 1.99 USD a week, 29.99 USD a year with the first 7 days free, or 39.99 USD once and never again. Prices shown in the app are in your own currency, from the App Store. Cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

No advertising, no data selling, no upsell popups in the middle of a fast.
