Privacy policy for Says Who?

Last updated: 10 August 2026

The short version. Says Who? collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, and nothing for your child to type. Progress is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your family's own iCloud, where Apple stores it for you: we cannot read it, and we have no server of our own.

What the app collects

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting service and no third-party SDK of any kind.

What is stored, and where

On your device, inside Says Who's own storage, the app keeps: the name and picture chosen for each player (the name is optional, and a parent types it); which scenarios have been played, which answers were given, and which cards have been earned; and points, streaks, crowns and badges, all worked out from those answers.

A Parent PIN, if you set one, is stored only as a salted, stretched hash in the device Keychain, marked as this-device-only. The PIN itself is never written down anywhere.

iCloud

If your device is signed into iCloud, the play progress above (never the PIN) is mirrored into your own iCloud key-value storage. That is what lets progress survive deleting the app and reach your family's other devices signed into the same iCloud.

This storage belongs to you and is hosted by Apple. Handful Apps has no server, no account system, and no way to read what is in your iCloud. With iCloud switched off, everything stays on the device alone, and deleting the app deletes it.

What your child can type

Nothing. Every answer in Says Who is a tap: a verdict, a card, a prediction, a thing to say. There is no free text box anywhere a child can reach. The only text ever entered is the optional player name, typed by a grown-up.

Purchases and advertising

There are none. This version of Says Who is completely free, contains no in-app purchases, and shows no advertising of any kind.

Read aloud

The optional narration uses the speech voices built into your device. It is off until a parent turns it on, and nothing about it leaves the device.

Children

Says Who is made for children aged 9 and up and is listed in the App Store Kids Category. It does not collect personal information from anybody, of any age. The grown-ups area sits behind a check a child is not expected to pass. There are no links out of the app.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any version of the app that collects anything at all will say so here first.
